MELBOURNE UNIVERSITY ENTREPRENEURS CHALLENGE 2010
JUDGING CRITERIA
Teams will be judged on:
1. The viability of their idea
2. The vision and potential of the team to make their idea work
3. The quality of the business plan proposal
The teams will be scored as follows:
A. Presentation (20%)
· The team has a sound, well-structured and easily comprehended business plan.
· The concepts of the business are explained well in both the business plan and verbal pitches.
· The team responds well to questions and presents well.
B. Idea and Organisation (30%)
· The enterprise offers a unique and attractive value proposition, with significant growth potential, in an already existing or a totally new market.
· The team has an effective business model and strategy that is capable of meeting its goals.
· The team demonstrates that it has, or will have, the experience and training needed in relevant areas, as well as an ability to handle operational aspects and growth.
C. Marketing (25%)
· The team demonstrates a clear market need, a way to take advantage of that need and is aligned with future market trends. The market served can be existing or new.
· The team has clearly identified the goals of its marketing strategy and developed a viable marketing and sales plan.
D. Financials (25%)
· The team demonstrates an understanding of the financial requirements of the enterprise, with realistic projections in place.
· If not-for-profit, the enterprise demonstrates significant social and/or environmental benefits over existing products, processes and services.
· The team has an effective capital structure and is able to demonstrate the attractiveness of the proposition to appropriate investors.
